Cap Snapback

The snapback hat is said to have been around since the 1950s[citation needed] It does not have a specific origin, though it contains many features of the distinguished baseball hat as well as the perpetual ceremonial hat (given to players at champion trophy presentations). In 1954, baseball players in the United States adapted the new-modeled snapback hat, which had a rim that was flat instead of bent (baseball hat) as a part of their uniform.[citation needed] It became more and more trendy in fashion, which eventually led to teams embed their colors on the hats.[citation needed] Snapbacks were produced and sold in the 1960's through 1987 , the snap was patented by frank k lipschutz of louisville cap company in the 1950's and he controlled 100% of the snapback business and controlled the popular designs.[citation needed] Popular hip-hop artists including Tupac Shakur, Dr. Dre, and Ice Cube, during the early 1990s, promoted snapbacks and increased their popularity through their album covers, music videos, and movies, starting a new trend. Today, the snapback hat is part of various sports merchandise contracts and is a part of many sports uniforms.

Design

The height of the hat is varied, usually starting from tip of the ear and continuing to the top of the head, depending on how it’s worn.[citation needed] A bendable rim with about 6-8 seams as a featured detail around the rim is typical. A sticker on the rim often represents the brand name with six equally spaced air holes at the top of the hat on each triangular piece of fabric. There is a small button at the top of the hat, where the fabric joins. The logo at the front of the hat is usually outlined in a different colour to the primary hat fabric to create contrast. The sides are usually designed with smaller logos or none at all. The back of the hat usually has a miniature logo, similar to the one at the front. Underneath this logo, there’s a snap fastener, which the user can use to adjust the size of the hat to fit their head. This type of hat has far less distinction than baseball caps.

Hip-hop culture

The hip-hop industry has greatly promoted snapbacks. Snapbacks are advertised in music videos, lyrics, images, interviews, billboards etc. In recent years celebrities have used snapbacks as a key feature[opinion] to their fashion trends. More and more fans have adapted this tendency and the snapback usage has increased. Hip-hop artists Chris Brown and Tyga have promoted snapbacks in both their lyrics and music video for the song Snapbacks Back. Furthermore, rapper Wiz Khalifa has featured them in his fashion trends and in most of his music videos, such as in his song Roll Up. Other rappers such as Big Sean, Mac Miller and Jay-Z are also known for wearing snapbacks.[citation needed]

Whatsapp

IN 2009, when two ex-Yahoo software engineers, Brian Acton and Jan Koum launched a start-up firm called WhatsApp, they barely knew their instant messaging application would sound the death knell for short message service (SMS) and multimedia messaging service (MMS) businesses of our local mobile network operators (MNOs).

How it works

WhatsApp Messenger is a cross-platform mobile messaging app which allows you to exchange messages without having to pay for SMS. WhatsApp Messenger is available for iPhone, BlackBerry, Android, Windows Phone and Nokia and yes, those phones can all message each other! Because WhatsApp Messenger uses the same internet data plan that you use for email and web browsing, there is no cost to message and stay in touch with your friends.
In addition to basic messaging WhatsApp users can create groups, send each other unlimited images, video and audio media messages.
